Team GB Are Off to Aachen and We Couldn't Be More Excited!
The Mane Life | August 2026
If you're anything like us, your August is already planned around one thing. The FEI World Championships in Aachen! From 11–23 August, all six disciplines come together in Germany for two incredible weeks of top-class sport, and Great Britain is sending 23 horse and rider combinations to fly the flag.
Even better? It's the first chance to qualify for the LA 2028 Olympics and Paralympics, so there's everything to ride for!
The dressage line-up is something special Charlotte Fry and the wonderful Glamourdale lead the charge, alongside Carl Hester with Fame, Fiona Bigwood with Donna Bella and Becky Moody with everyone's favourite, Jagerbomb. And when Charlotte Dujardin and Brave Heart are on the reserve list, you know the squad is seriously strong!
Our eventers mean business Ros Canter and the mighty Lordships Graffalo are back, joined by Laura Collett and London 52, Tom McEwen with JL Dublin, Caroline Harris with D. Day and Gemma Stevens with Flash Cooley. Honestly, we wouldn't want to be the competition, this team is packed with championship winners, and with the likes of Yasmin Ingham and Harry Meade in reserve, the strength in depth is unreal.
Showjumping stars, old and new Scott Brash (Hello Mango), Ben Maher (Point Break) and Harry Charles (LT Holst Freda) bring the experience, while Jack Whitaker (Jack JL) and Adrian Whiteway (Chacco Volo) bring fresh energy.
That famous Whitaker name at a World Championships? We love to see it! And there's so much more Our para dressage team, Mari Durward-Akhurst, Jemima Green, Nicola Naylor and Sophie Wells continues Britain's amazing record in the sport, with the legendary Sir Lee Pearson in reserve.
We've also got four brilliant four-in-hand drivers heading out, and Ursula Levett representing us in vaulting with Soel'rings Million Voices. Why we'll be glued to it It's not often you get to watch all six disciplines competing together under one flag and with LA28 spots up for grabs at the first time of asking, every test, round and run really counts.
British Equestrian reckon this is one of the most competitive teams we've sent to a World Championships in years, and we have to agree! So pop the kettle on, get comfy and clear your diary from 11 August — it's going to be a brilliant fortnight of sport.
